Frequently asked questions

Specific answers about Ubuntu Gale’s current stage and intended work.

These answers distinguish what is operational now from what is planned.

01

Is Ubuntu Gale a registered non-profit?

Yes. UBUNTU GALE NPC is a non-profit company registered with the CIPC of South Africa, registration number 2026/299242/08. Official documents can be downloaded from the organisational profile page. NPO, PBO and Section 18A statuses are separate processes and are not claimed until granted.

02

Is Ubuntu Gale already delivering programmes?

No active programme delivery or completed outcomes are claimed. Three programme concepts and four proposed projects are published for transparency and funding development.

03

Who can apply for support?

African small businesses, NGOs, social enterprises, community organisations, schools, youth initiatives and informal groups with an eligible technology or capability need may apply.

04

Does an application guarantee support?

No. Applications are assessed for eligibility, fit, readiness, risk, capacity and funding. A request may be declined, referred, held in a pipeline or invited to discovery.

05

Is support free?

No universal free-support policy is published. Future work may be grant-funded, co-funded or contributed in kind. Terms will be documented before delivery.

06

Can Ubuntu Gale guarantee grant funding?

No. Ubuntu Gale may help structure needs and mobilise aligned partners, but it cannot guarantee a grant, investment or funder decision.

07

Can I donate now?

No. Donation processing remains disabled until legal, banking, tax, receipting, governance and payment requirements are approved.

08

Can my company donate software or cloud credits?

Potentially. The contribution must disclose duration, renewal cost, restrictions, data terms, support, portability and what happens when credits expire.

09

Can I volunteer?

The first volunteer intake is being designed. Future assignments will have a defined owner, scope, time commitment, screening level and handover condition.

10

How will impact be verified?

A result must be attached to an approved indicator and period, supported by evidence, reviewed for quality and approved by an authorised verifier before public publication.

11

How will personal information be protected?

The baseline requires data minimisation, purpose limitation, restricted access, retention rules, secure transport, audit logs and private storage for sensitive records.

12

How can I raise a complaint?

A dedicated complaints route will be published before operational launch. It will provide acknowledgement, triage, impartial review, outcome communication and appeal or escalation where appropriate.
